Maintenance

Featherlyte offers a 2-year limited warranty against defects on all products to the original purchaser. It's important to properly care for and maintain your Featherlyte to ensure warranty coverage.

Maintenance Tips:

  1. After your adventures, open up your Featherlyte to let it dry completely. Prop up or remove the mattress to avoid moisture getting trapped in the tent material and foam mattress folds.

  1. Check your mounting hardware before trips and intermittently while on the road. All connections must be tight for safety. If concerned, email us atinfo@featherlyte.com.

  1. Regularly lubricate your zipper to keep it moving smoothly. For daily use, apply lubricant once a month; for less frequent use, every few months should be fine. Don't force zippers. If one sticks, add some zipper lubricant. If a zipper is hard to close, have someone pull the fabric together to reduce tension.

  1. Lube your struts at least once a year with WD-40.

  1. Surface rust may accumulate on the steel hardware, which can be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol or WD-40.

Storage:

  1. Before storing your tent, ensure it is completely dry to prevent mold and mildew growth. Air out the tent after your trip and wipe it down inside and outside. Store the tent in the provided storage bag due to the open floor design.

  1. Remove and wash the mattress cover if needed. Consider storing the mattress outside of the tent if you live in a humid climate.

  1. Your Featherlyte can be stored on its side, but avoid placing it on the front hinges. Place something under the tent, like thick cardboard or a moving blanket.

  1. Storing year-round is okay, but it's recommended to open the tent regularly to air it out.

  1. Condensation inside the tent is normal in cold conditions and can lead to mold and mildew growth if not vented properly. Use a light bleach solution or a natural alternative like vinegar or 3% hydrogen peroxide to remove mold or mildew stains.
